Let’s face it, as if you need more incentive to see this movie. You’re going to watch it, I’m going to watch it, but, for now let’s pretend that we need a little more coaxing and check out the latest trailer for Edgar Wright’s upcoming Baby Driver.
The movie played at SXSW last month, with many walking out with their heads spinning. The film apparently had comparisons made to La La Land, essentially being described as a borderline musical car chase flick. I dig that.
The film follows Ansel Elgort as the titular Baby, a gifted getaway driver with a “hum in the drum”, a hearing problem that forces him to listen to music to drown it out, giving him a soundtrack to every moment of his life. Forced to pay off an unspecified debt to Kevin Spacey’s crime boss, Baby is dragged into one last ride involving a motley crew that includes the likes of Jamie Foxx and Jon Hamm of all people.
We’re set to get Baby Driver sometime in August, and with that, Atomic Blonde and The Hitman’s Bodyguard, August seems to be the month that I barely leave the cinema.
