And the long awaited search is over. It’s being reported that Marvel Studios have enlisted the services of Half Nelson and Mississippi Grind directors, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

Variety is reporting that the directing duo put ink to paper and will be the second duo Marvel has hired followed behind by the Russo Brothers. Aside from the aforementioned films, Boden and Fleck are also veteran television directors, both having worked on shows such as Billions and The Affair.

According to the report, the two had numerous, in-depth meetings and consistently impressed the studio executives with their vision of Carol Danvers and the film overall. This follows from last year’s announcement that Oscar winner, Brie Larson would be taking on the role of the Air Force pilot turned superhero, with the film due out March 8th, 2019. The studio had initially been pursuing female directors for the project, a la Wonder Woman and Patty Jenkins. I guess one out of two ain’t bad?
